5 Signs It’s Time To Repaint Your Dining Room in McLean, VA

Sometimes there is a good question of whether you have to take the time to repaint parts of the interior of your home, more specifically the dining room part of your home — it’s not always clear that it’s necessary or even warranted.

Certain things are good indicators that it is time to repaint your dining room and others that will let you know that it’s not quite yet time to repaint your living room — though there are few downsides to painting a dining room early other than perhaps an added cost.

With that in mind, here are five signs that it’s time to repaint your dining room in McLean, VA.

1. It Has Been Long Enough

Under the best of circumstances, a paint job will last you anywhere from five to seven years — and by best of circumstances, we mean that you or the people involved with painting your dining room properly cleaned the walls, sanded, applied primer, and used quality paint.

If, of course, you are aware that any of these weren’t quite the case — perhaps lower quality paint was used, or there was no primer applied, the paint job could last even less time.

In any case, if it has been over seven years, that is undoubtedly a good sign that it is time to repaint your dining room.

2. The Style Needs An Update

Even if the paint job in the dining room is not nearly seven years old, you may still need to repaint the room if the style needs an update.

It’s entirely possible that the style you thought so contemporary and up to date a few years ago already has a slightly dated and out of style look to it.

The good news is that you can find a new style and paint your dining room with it.

3. There Are Issues With The Finish

There are quite a few issues that could come up with your paintwork finish, ranging from the sort of bubbling that comes up on a finish when the paint is applied to a wet surface to a sort of thick appearance to the paintwork that typically indicates that too much paint was on the paintbrush when the coats of paint were applied.

If you find that this is the case, you may need to take the time to correct the issue itself and then sand, primer, and apply paint as need be.

Of course, you could always just take that opportunity to change the color scheme entirely and repaint the whole dining room.

4. You Just Want A New Color

Even if it hasn’t been all that many years since you have painted the dining room, it’s entirely up to you to decide if you still like the color that you have going on in the dining room.

If you don’t like the color and would like to change it up for something that is more to your suiting, it is up to you to first, of course, choose what color you will want to paint and then make it happen — and have your dining room look more like how you would want it to look.

5. You Are About To List Your House

If you’re thinking about listing your house, one of the things that you will want to do is to improve the look of your home prior to doing so.

Painting the dining room is an excellent opportunity to get the room to look that much better and to improve the possible listing price for your house.
